For Wednesday's class, we will be discussing preparing students for the Statewide Exams. We will focus on reading and writing strategies we can teach students so that they can be successful on the exams and meet the state standards. I would like you to bring a copy of a statewide exam with you to class. If you know what grade you will be teaching in the fall, please bring the ELA or a Social Studies exam for that grade level with you to class. If you are not sure yet about your grade level for the fall, please feel free to select a grade level you are interested in. Copies of the NYS Exams can be found at www.emsc.nysed.gov/osa/home.html. Once on that page, you can select the grade and/or content area. That will redirect you to a page where you have access to past exams (there is a small gray text box on the right hand side of the page, just click on that to link you to exams).
